Triumph  Dolomite

 &  Sprint  Club.

The TD & SC was set up in 1997 by a group of

enthusiasts based in the Somerset area.

We felt that no other club (neither then, nor now) could provide the sort of environment in which we felt comfortable.

Other ‘clubs’ exist for those people who only want to polish their cars, and then leave them in a field for others to look at, we wanted (and still do) to have an opportunity to use our cars for a variety of purposes.

We accept that there is a time and place to exhibit original and/or restored examples of the cars, but, equally, there is a time to actually use, and enjoy the driving experience, of them.

To that end, we have assembled a membership (primarily in the same area – but growing nation-wide) who enjoy the vehicles in whatever state they are in!

We currently have owners of all manner of cars, ranging from 1300s, through sprints, and up to full-blown competition spec cars, all of which are in regular use.

There is no ‘snobbery’ over the car in which you turn up – just so long as you are enjoying yourself, who cares? (That’s not to say that we won’t have a laugh with you, just not at you!)

We have a healthy approach to our interest; we aren’t just a sad bunch of blokes (and girls!) who only want to read about the latest “overvalve flange sprocket replacement (reproduction)”

We have members who are extremely knowledgeable about all Dolomites, and are happy to pass on tips & advice, either through the newsletter, or by ‘phone, fax and e-mail. (preferably not at 3 in the morning when you’re still up to your elbows in dirty oil in the garage, trying to get 400 bhp out of an 1850!)

This club prides itself on being a “membership” based club. You won’t have just one person giving everyone else their opinion, and expecting you to like it or lump it! (unlike some others we know about).

All members have an equal say, and the official ‘Offices’ of the club (Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer) are available to any member who wishes to put themselves forward, in accordance with the Club Constitution, at the AGM.

All of our accounts are published to the membership and available for independent audit.

Records are held on Computer, and are subject to the

provisions of the Data Protection Acts.

We want to use, enjoy and ultimately preserve our cars for the future, and have regular get-togethers to have a talk about the way to achieve this end.

There’s no such thing as a stupid question, suggestion or

idea – none of us knows everything, and there is no

monopoly on good thoughts!

Current annual membership will cost you just TEN of your English pounds, for which you get a monthly newsletter and the chance to use your car, or just talk about using it, with other enthusiasts.

Membership year starts 1st November annually

(Join now, and you will get membership up to 31st October 2001)

All the best (and happy Triumphing),
